Project

Action-research for Youth in Europe

AYE is an Erasmus+ project that employs participatory action research to explore the role of third spaces as sites for knowledge exchange both within and beyond academia in four cities (Bologna-Italy, Rennes-France, Helsinki-Finland, Trafaria-Portugal). The project promotes interdisciplinary approaches and creative methodologies to connect research, art, and social activism.

In Bologna, AYE collaborates with the artist collective Titivil to carry out a participatory urban regeneration intervention: the transformation of a parking lot into a children’s play area and a community gathering space, within the Carracci Casa Comune housing experience by PLAT and migrant families. This intervention is preceded by an action-research process conducted by master’s students in Sociology, who employ the art-based approach and creative methodologies as tools for research and artivism.

Through this process, AYE aims to rethink social and spatial mobilities, fostering new connections between universities, artistic practices, and local communities.
